Why VMR?

There's an old saying:  "There's a sucker in every deal, and if you don't know who it is, it's probably you."  In the used car business, those are words to live by.

VMR publishes used vehicle market data to help consumers buy used cars at a price that reflects their interests, not the dealers.  We are unbiased and objective.  Our data consists of a wholesale value (the basis point of any negotiation and the most important number for you) and a retail value (the absolute most you should pay at a dealership).  Pricing data is compiled from many market sources, including thousands of actual transactions every month.

You may find that our prices are lower than other guides such as N.A.D.A. (Which stands, by the way, for National Automobile Dealers Association --hardly an unbiased source and sort of like letting the fox guard the hen house!) Kelley Blue Book (Whom generally publish the highest retail values of any guide -- which is why you see it just about anywhere someone is selling a car. Dealers love to use it.), and Edmunds.

Today, you have many choices when it comes to using a data source for used car pricing.  We suggest that you use one that works for you.
